Ntag213, Ntag215, and Ntag216, we also call them Ntag21x, are all developed by NXP and almost launched simultaneously. All of them comply with NFC Forum Type 2 Tag and ISO/IEC14443 Type A specifications. Besides, they are very similar in features and applications. So how to choose? What are the differences between them? Fewer people can figure out, but this article will make you clear.
1、Key Features
NTAG213 Chip: Ntag213 is a new generation of the Ntag203 chip. Compared with Ntag203, Ntag213 are advanced in RF performance and functions, such as a 32-bit password and ASCII UID mirror are added. And it has better propertyin terms of reading speed and range. Besides, Ntag213 has a slightly bigger memory, equal to 144 bytes. Most importantly, it is relatively cheap among Ntag series chips.
NTAG215 Chip: NTAG215 is a medium-size memory capacity; the available memory is 504 bytes. It’s suitable to be encoded with V-Cards or more data. Like all the NTAG chips, it has some more features, as the password-protection. It’s slightly cheaper than NTAG216, but it’s an excellent NFC Chip. It’s worth mentioning that Ntag215 is the only chip available for amiibo.
NTAG216 Chip: NTAG216 has the advantage of getting a bigger capacity than the opposite NFC Tags because of the available memory of 888 bytes. That makes it an excellent chip for business cards with complete V-Card data. They’re in no time, but also are costlier.
